Up to the minute stress Bonus Update Fun

So I work at a University.

In Montreal.

Right now our campus has cops and journalists and photographers and a news chopper.

Because some one thought they saw someone with a gun.

We've been told to lock ourselves in our offices.

Knowing the bit that I do about guns I am here to tell you that our doors and walls are manifestly not bullet proof.

There doesn't seem to be an evacuation.

And now you know as much as I do.

Except that right now I'm eyeing my vinyl curtains and the radiator and my window quite seriously.

Bonus Update Fun

So it was a false alarm and I've never been happier about something like that in my life.

Kudos to the janitor for deciding to report what he/she thought they saw.

I dunno how I feel about the whole response, part of it I've changed my mind about, Christine points out that those who stay put in situations like this seem to survive. I'm thinking that maybe the University needs to invest in some more direct, proactive info delivery system. But mb I'm talking out my ass.

For anyone who may be worried about Cameron, I've spoken with him and he and Mrs. Cameron are safely off campus now.

:)

I am glad everyone is safe and that it was a false alarm.
