Papa tomber?

In Lucas' world there is nothing worse than if you tomber (fall down). Falling down is the root of all evil. Near misses on the falling down scale are met with the bilingual warnings "Attention! Be careful" from him, accompanied by a very solemn look. If you do fall down you are meant to do one of two things:
  1. Cry your head off
  2. Announce that you are ok "Lucas correct!"
Both require kisses to make you all better.

Recently he has been asking Christine "Papa tomber?" even when I'm in the room. This is a bit freaky. I'm getting that "does the boy know something I don't feeling".

On the same tip, we are now forced to face the fact that he is paying attention to a bit more than the ads when the TV is on.

In an effort to get to bed a bit earlier on Tuesdays, we watch NCIS at 6:30 via a feed from Newfoundland. In last nights episode a Marine came home from deployment to beat someone who had mb killed his wife. Lucas noticed and for the next hour he wanted to know if the man was ok.

So it's no TV or soothing nature shows for us until he goes to bed.

Yes, I am sure that watching a leopard bring down a kudu with a nicely aimed bite on the neck or seeing a snake head blown up to 50x life-size will be much more soothing....
I think the most soothing program on TV for kids must be Miffy. That bunny never gets excited about anything. Each episode is like a nice dose of valium.

JJ, you should see if you can get Poko locally.

It's a stop action claymation show from Canada.

It's so sweet, and calm and almost retro.

Lucas adores it.

And you're right, nature shows might suck as well.

Do you reckon it is the constant furough in your brow or the wind rushing by your head as you dash off to another part of your busy life that is having him either predict the future or project his own worst-case-scenario onto you?

Hmmm...wise boy says: "watch out Daddy you're gonna fall at this pace!"

Love my nephew...Zen Budhist Belly Boy...give him a kiss for me!
