Cameron's House of Fun

Fatherhood, politics, education, random thoughts (heavy on the random thoughts) and stuff (always stuff).

Oh you little bastard you!

I love the Undergraduates, I really do. With out them in their multitudes I wouldn't have a job. This would suck in so many ways.

But I went for a walk to the science building just now to go and get some money and then a Pepsi (every time I see that word in writing Suicidal Tendencies lyrics pop into my head unbidden) and opened a door at the same time as a student was coming through. We kind of bumped into each other.

Adopting the safest attitude available to him (who knows, I might be a prof) he said "Oh, I'm very sorry sir."

Sir?

GARRRGGHHH...... I'M OLD.

Yes. Exactly.

This puts into words what I feel is going on in Quebec right now far better than I ever could.

Contrary to what outside observers may think, it is not always about sovereignty.

Random Camera Phone Oddness

Here' s some stuff I've seen lately.

I dunno wtf this is about... but I do like random crap...

US Postal Service mail box. On McGill's Campus. I dunno. Odd.

This person will teach you how to communicate with your Guardian Angel... where to even start?
This was just cool, it's a vending machine that sells you power for your portable device. You plug in your iPod or Palm or mobile and feed the machine and then it charges it for you.

A random thought and a promise

Ok, first the promise. I know there is a provincial election. I'm totally aware of this. I will post about it soon. Just as soon as I'm done weeping from the horror of the decisions all Quebecois are faced with.

Now RANDOM THOUGHT TIME!!

I had a blood test this morning, nothing serious, just a checkup dealy. So you go in, you get the nice lady who sets up up, pokes you with the needle etc.

Ok, that hurts, but it won't kill you.

But WTF is up with the cotton ball and the surgical tape they put on you afterwards?

I just took it off, the needle mark is visible, but tiny, but my arm now has these red marks, about 2cm squared that look tons worse than a little pin prick and some blood.
